Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a strategic decision
Today, commercial and technical know-how alone is no longer enough for the success of a company. Customers, state and non-governmental organisations expect that companies systematically analyse the effects of their activities, in particular with regard to employment, working conditions, fairness of competition, corruption, effect on the environment and relationships to suppliers (
"Sustainable procurement").
The commitment in the area of social responsibility thus increasingly becomes a strategic decision. Can a company afford to neglect these topics? Or does a company prefer to consciously align and present itself as an active and responsible company? One thing is clear: CSR and sustainability must be anchored in the business strategy of the organisation in order to achieve their full effect on the success of the organisation.
Neosys can support you in developing and implementing a CSR strategy that is adapted to your company. A first step here can be to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your company with regard to CSR and sustainability. With our many years of experience, Neosys also assists your company in the specific selection and implementation of suitable instruments of social responsibility (e.g. Global Compact, SA 8000, BSCI, ISO 26000, AA 1000, own code of conduct).

Standards
Diverse standards have been developed over the last few years. We know our way around in this maze of regulations and can give you competent advice. You can thus develop a clear strategy and find the standards that are best suited for your company. We offer courses and training, as well as concepts and consulting for the implementation phase. We present a few examples of standards to you in the following paragraphs.
ISO 26’000
The ISO standard for social responsibility of organisations is just about to be finalised. We are involved in the development via the executive committee of the mirror group of the standards association in Switzerland. This broadly based standard for sustainability defines principles, names the relevant aspects/topics of social responsibility and gives specifications for the implementation. There is already evidence that ISO 26000 will become the reference standard for social responsibility.
Social Accountability / SA 8000
SA 8000 is the most well-known management system for the application of social responsibility in the procurement chain (
"Sustainable procurement").

Stakeholder commitment (AA 1000)
Company activities or projects have an impact on different social groups and can trigger fears and resistance that need to be tackled in dialogue. Moreover, the early inclusion of these groups offers an opportunity to achieve maximum possible acceptance and support to secure success in the long-term and to find creative solutions. Socially responsible companies systematically analyse the effects of their action on the social environment and take the different interests into account in the planning of their activities. This helps to avoid a conflict of interests escalating or an entire project being held up, e.g. due to lengthy court proceedings. Neosys can identify your interest groups (stakeholder analysis), advise you in the development of a suitable stakeholder dialogue (e.g. based on the AA 1000 process standard) or even define this for you. (
"OE+Mediation").
